Green Vent's Slim Design line uses a flat, single-blade design and a thinner aluminum build than our Premium Aluminum Linear Slot Diffuser line. Same Smart Airflow Control feature set, same 4x10-to-6x14 size range in white aluminum — the difference is what's inside the slot, not how you adjust it.

Smart Airflow Control — Same Feature, Different Blade

Every Slim Design size ships with Smart Airflow Control: four airflow modes — 1-way, 2-way, high airflow, and high air speed. Slim Design delivers those modes through a single flat blade that tilts on one axis — left, right, or straight through. Our full-depth line uses a curved, dual-blade design that rotates each blade independently for more precise direction control. Same feature name, same four modes, different mechanism underneath.

Which Size Fits Where

6x12 and 6x14 aren't rated for floor installation in Slim Design — the thinner aluminum build doesn't hold up to foot traffic at those larger sizes. If you need a 6x12 or 6x14 for a floor opening, our full-depth line covers both in the same finish and Smart Airflow Control.

Order by duct opening size, not the face size — the face plate is intentionally larger than the opening to cover your existing hole and any old screw marks. Measure your duct opening, not the old cover's faceplate.

What Slim Design Doesn't Do

None of these four sizes are filter-compatible — adding a filter at the vent restricts airflow and puts extra strain on your HVAC system; filtration belongs at the air handler, not the cover. 6x10 is the only Slim Design size rated for return air, and only light-duty. Installation follows the same process as the rest of Green Vent's linear slot diffuser range: remove the old cover, confirm the duct opening matches the size you ordered, and mount with the included screws through the hidden side holes. What's the difference between Slim Design and Premium?

Both use Smart Airflow Control with the same four modes. Slim Design delivers it through a thinner build with a flat, single-axis blade; the full-depth line uses a curved, independently-rotating dual blade and covers more sizes in both White and Black.

What size do I order — duct opening or face size?

Order by duct opening size. The visible face plate is larger than the opening on every size here — that's normal, not a sizing error.

Can I install any Slim Design size on a floor?

4x10 and 6x10 are rated for floor installation, 6x10 for low-traffic areas only. 6x12 and 6x14 are wall and ceiling only.

Does any Slim Design size work as a return air vent?

Only 6x10, and only for light-duty return air. The other three sizes are supply air only.

Is a Black finish available?

Not currently — Slim Design is White only in all four sizes. Black is available on select sizes in Green Vent's full-depth line.
