Adjust the airflow. Use the damper to open, close, or dial the airflow volume up and down — it sets volume, not direction.

Do I need to screw it down?

No — gravity holds it on hard floors. Screws are included for carpet or busy rooms.

Can I control the airflow?

Yes. The damper opens and closes to raise or lower the airflow volume.
